The Hackathon

Over the course of 48 hours, teams will develop highly innovative prototypes to four predefined challenges. The focus is on innovation, exchanging knowledge and having lots of fun!

The competition must not be neglected either: Great prizes await the winning teams. Ultimately, the aim of the participants is to build powerful solutions to real problems.

The hackathon is hosted by the Entrepreneur Club Winterthur.

Burckhardt Compression AG

Social Services Winterthur is a department of the City of Winterthur. The social services supervise and accompany people in the “Adult protection measures” program. Participants are asked to come up with a solution to increase efficiency of communication.

x28 AG is one of those cool, fast-growing Internet companies that nobody knows about, but everyone uses. Participants are ask to develop a “Smart Data Business” solution using data provided by x28 AG.

Sulzer offers maintenance services such as inspection and cause-and-effect research, repair and spare parts for pumps, turbomachinery, generators and electric motors. Participants are asked to use technology to make tacit knowledge accessible and searchable for others.

Burckhardt Compression is a Winterthur-based Swiss firm specialising in reciprocating compressors. Fast delivery and flexibility are among the company’s key success factors. Participants are asked to find solutions to optimize the manufacturing throughput time.
